Horn blowing by itself !!!!
I know you dont find it so, but thats kinda humerous. My buddy had the same problem in his car and there was a sensor in the steering wheel that had gotten "stuck" and needed to be replaced. Granted it was a completely different kind of vehicle, the same problem and fix may apply here.
Had a similar problem with my 1980 Diplomat years ago. The horn would blow by itself at random times- even when I wasn't in the car. Turned out to be the horn switch in the steering wheel intermittently shorting. Since yours wasn't intermittent, I'd say you developed a hard short someplace in the horn activation circuit.
Do you and your friends play practical jokes? I know a few people that have a habit of rewiring people's horns. They wire them into the brake lights or the turn signals or wiper motor or whatever.
its a common problem...take it to the dealership from which you bought it...its happening in the new rams, stratus', durangos...not sure what else...
Hey all...Thanks for the input. No, nobody playing jokes...Was intermittant, then solid. Tried hooking up the battery this morning, and it started to blast again, so I stopped. Decided to take it to the dealer, and hooked it up, gave a chirp and stopped. Made it to the dealer with no blaring horn, but right before I was leaving the dealer, it started !!! I should hear from them soon.....
Okay...the horn pad in the steering wheel, and both horns will be replaced tomorrow morning. The horn left blasting for a half hour or so, kinda fried the horns...
