I've got a '07 2 wheel drive regular cab Ram, and I need to know how much of a lift I need to run a 35" tire. I'm not sure if I'm gonna go with a 10.50 or a 12.50, but if the 10.50 doesn't look too goofy that's probably what I'll go with for gas mileage reasons. Also, I have the 3.55 posi now, would I need to re gear for a 35? If so, is there a Mopar gear set that I can go with? Thanks.

 

Although mine is a 4X4 I beleive its the same. You can fit 33" tires with a stock suspension with very minor rub at full turn. My tires are 33"s and 12.50 wide but I have aftermarket rims with a different offset. With a leveling kit you can run 35" tires (providing you had the correct offset). And I know most people here would definatly recommend that you regear with 35" tires. Most would tell you to change the gears from 3.55s with the STOCK tires. http://www.4wheelparts.com/gear_ratio.html and there are alot of different places to get new gears...

I tried the search, but no definate info came up. I need to know things like wheel offset/backspacing. I plan on running some 17x10 Eagle 185s. From what I gather from the search a leveling kit is all I need, but then some people say that's only for the 2500/3500. Mine is a 1500. Is the leveling kit sufficient for a 1500, or do I need to go up to a 4" lift?

 

ok did you change the date, i know sometimes it only comes back to search the last month and you have to change it to search all... but anyway to answer your question, i dont know that you can fit a 35 on a 2wd with just a leveling kit, definately not if you don't want it to rub at all. To run a 35" tire your going to want a 3" lift. If you go with a 12.50 inch wide tire, your going to want about 4.5" backspacing and with that backspacing probably wanna look at fender flares also or they will fly rocks up and chip your paint all to hell

Ok, I've been doing a lot of searching on here and I have concluded that my best bet is to go with a leveling kit and run some 285/70 17s such as these.

Questions:

1. Are the stock 17" alloy wheels indeed 8" wide?
2. Will I need fender flares for that size tire, the section width on the web site says 11.50"
3. IF I need flares, what is a good brand to get? I'd like OEM quality or better, not some Taiwan junk.
4. I can't find any leveling kits for the 2006+ 2wd trucks. Do they exist? Links/part numbers please.

Yes i believe 17x8 and the tires will easily mount to them
