Default Premium Amp location in 2008 Mega Cab

I tried to find out if anyone has replaced the rear speakers in a Mega Cab with the Premium Infinity. What size were they, and what fits?

also, where is the amp for this system in a Mega Cab (behind the glove box) and how much power does the factory premium amp put out.

is it 66 watts per channel x 2 channels?

Anyone swap out the factory amp with a Kicker 77kick18? How did it sound?

Bob

When you say optional, does that mean that even though I have the Infinity 7 speaker Premium system withNav, I still might not have this amp? That might explain why the system sounds so muddy and distorted (along with the fact that the speakers are OEM crap).

I guess I'll be dropping the glove box tomorrow to see if I have this gem!

Thanks for the info. Bob

Default Infinity AMP Removal - Need Help

2006 Ram Dually Diesel with Infinity Sound System.
I cannot remove the infinity amp with only the "Instrument Panel (radio) Center Bezel" removed.
My Service Manual CD page 8A-154 shows the same schematic as Parts/Service but
says to also remove the "Lower Right Center Bezel". There is no such part described
on page 23-138.
Before I buy the replacement HVOC Recirculation Door / Panel, I need to be able to
remove the infinity amp to install it. I was able to remove the broken door through the
blower and now get a blend of both outside and inside air. This suits me just fine for now..

If you have the Infinity system you have the amp. Pull out your glovebox, you'll see it right there. The one screw bolt is a bitch to get to though, hope you have small hands lol.

Thank you HemiLonestar.
I saw the infinity amp when I removed the glovebox
to locate the HVAC recirculation door motor / actuator.
I do not have small hands and posted if there was
an easier way to remove the amp without removing
the entire dashboard.
Years ago, when I installed the OEM Clarion navigation
(original radio had the infinity setup), I didn't have to
touch the amp. Everything was a plug and play.
I'll will have another look through the glovebox.
Thanks.
