So I looked under my truck and the rear end says 3.92 traction lock. Is this a Lsd or open.

 

Traction lock would be yet another term that means LSD.
So now you know, you are the proud owner of a Chrysler 9.25" rear end with 3.92 gears and a ticking time bomb inside of it. Congratulations.


Seriously though, what year is your truck? The 06+ trucks don't seem to be having anywhere near the issues the earlier ones did, or maybe it's just that they are not old enough yet.

 

2003 mine suposedly already blew the clip according to the hole in the wall mechanic shop but heck we've been towing a 10000lb trailer with no problems
