The 2006 Ram I bought has the center jump seat without the console (grey cloth). I would really like a storage unit in the center. Is the difference between a console truck and non-console simply the pivoting portion? What I mean, is the portion to be seated on the same for both styles, and only the arm rest portion different?

Has anyone designed or purchased a decent aftermarket type?

I don't have a picture of my interior, but this is what it looks like (link below). Also, I should have been more clear. My truck has cloth seats with a vinyl jump seat. This what I am looking to replace.

Yea, that is no good at all!! Not to mention, the center with the storage, it is not just the top piece but the bottom piece (on most of them) will open up to expose more storage. Some owners do not even know they have this "secret"storage.

 

The '08 40/20/40 splint bench identified as the "Premium Bench seat" has good usable storage space in both the seat back as well as the seat pan. I have no idea whether you could retro fit your truck with the same.

 

you should be able to get any 06/07 center seat and just bolt it in there....

Not really sure... at the dealer way over priced... check ebay, junkyards, any links on this site to dodge parts websites and you can try www.car-part.com they seem to be pretty good...
