Default Keyless entry question

I can't seem to be able to turn the horn honk off when arming the factory alarm...is there a trick to it? From what i've read you're supposed to hold the lock button on the key for 4 to 10 seconds....then while still holding the lock button you push and hold the panic button (doesn't say for how long). Then the packet says to release both buttons at the same time. I tried it about a dozen times with no luck[:@]

There has been some discussion about this in the past. It seems that the proceedure works for some and not for others. It worked fine on my 07, but it didn't on a a few other 07's.

I went to the dealer today and they programmed the horn off. If anyone else is interested they also said they could activate the daytime running lights (headlights come on when in gear but they're dimmer) and have the headlights come on when you turn your wipers on. I might do the DRL later...has anyone had that activated?

That is the procedure I used on my 08

^^^I know...the problem was that it doesn't work on a lot of 07's for some reason. The dealer had to use the starscan to turn it off..
