WHOA?!!? Where's my gas mileage?!
hmmmm... well I guess I just like paying 0.15 more a gallon.... lol.. I'm ordering a tuner tomorrow anyways... I'll see if it increases after I get the T-stat fixed tuesday... I know that winter mixes are at the pumps now, but I've never seen a decrease like this in my older trucks.. Also I've been running 93 octane since I got it, maybe 2 tanks have been 89, and to me there was a noticable performance decrease, but to steal someone else's term on here, I was using my "Butt-Dyno". I dunno... We'll see...
Thanks for the replies though...

hmmm... I was typing when you were replying... I haven't checked my tire pressure, lately. I change the oil so much that I figure they're keeping up with it. Oh yeah, the oil was changed yesterday, right before this trip. Now I know that Tennessee is hilly, but I've made that trip I think 3 times so far with this vehicle... I don't know...
I will check the tire pressure later tonight... I'm covering for someone at work right now....

Winter blend fuel is lower in energy. Chevron indicates that an EPA analysis showed a 1.8% decrease in energy going from summer to winter blend.

Get rid of the 93 octane first ,fill it up with 87. The mileage will stay the same but it won't hurt so bad at the service station. Mine is an 04 ThunderRoad Hemi powered, 4x4 Quad Cab and today I got !5 miles per gallon on a trip with 17 in tire's and a 3.55 rear.
That's really bad!! Were there alot of mountains? When I run on the highway, I run around 70, no cruise, and I average 18-22. I also use CA40 in my truck, though. www.ca40g.com you guys need to check it out.
When i do my milage.... reading the lie-o-meter.... I get about 16-22 MPG.... I run 87 at the pump... and set the cruise at about 70... damm cops... drops quick on big hills....

. The compression is decently low in the hemi too...like 9.6 I think. I'm sure you know this but some others might not..so i'll say it. Octane is just the fuels resistance to igniting...so the higher the octane the more resistant the fuel isto detonation. Using 93 octane doesn't give you more power...it let's you run higher compression, advanced timing, running lean...etc and that gives you the power.
i usually get worse gas mileage when i use cruise control, prob cause when i come to a lil hill and it should downshift it pretty much puts it to the floor instead of a lil bit of gas. when i dont use cruise i get about 1.5 mpg more
