Broken tranny......
I was out and about today and all of a sudden I go to press the gas pedal and I noticed that the truck didn't speed up. The RPMs just went up and the tranny sounded like a small jet engine. I stopped and looked underneath and noticed a bad tranny fluid leak from where the bell housing meets the back of the engine. It took me about 20 minutes to drive 10 miles with the RPMs at around 2500+ and it barely went 10 mph. Anyone have a clue as to what happened? I wasn't messing around by taking off fast or anything. I just went to press the gas pedal and it would not speed up. I'm taking it to the dealership on Monday, luckily I have a warranty on it still and hopefully it's covered. Any input would be greatly appreciated. BTW I have a 2002 QC 4X4 5.9L.
Thanks for the input sddunn2. Hopefully that's all the problem is. Just called a flatbed to get it towed today to the dealership. I'll be back with an update.
I don't tow at all but I did pull out a big stump 3 ft in diameter with a big taproot this summer.
Well, the truck's in the shop, Chrysler Dealership, it'll probably be 'till tomorrow before they know what the problem is. They were booked solid through 2 p.m., today at least. I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope the warranty covers it.

Well, finally gotmy truck back. The warranty did cover the problem. It turned out to be the front pump, a friction disc, that screwed up the torque converter because there was no pressure and some lines. It runs and shifts smoother now. I press the gas pedal and it is very responsive. I barely feel the shifts nowcompared to before it shifted pretty hard. But now my tranny cooler has asmall chip that has a very small leak that looks like sweat and I'm taking that in on Friday.By the way the truck has 78,800 plus or minus a few miles.
