If you have ametaltool box you can run with one on each side of that too.

 

Why would you mount it on the inside? just put it somewhere hard to see. I know my friends have them hidden under seats in reg cabs and they work fineand I plan to put mine in the underseat storage under the back seat but I have about a 3 foot long one maybe the little ones don't work like that.
