So, in summary,
a stock Ram 4x4 V8 will get 19 or better at 70 mph
and with the big suspension lift and hard to roll mudder tires
this drops to the
13-16 MPG range
But with that big lift & tires
boys under age 13 will say 'cool' as you pass
and men over age 21
who have drug & winched core drills up muddy Kentucky mountain roads will say:
"Poseur"

Will let you know after next weekend, got the lift and tires on today and making a trip to PA on Saturday. As for HankL, umm.. I am 35 and just did all the things you are bashing, I enjoy the looks of a nice customized truck. I believe, to summarize what I am saying, go F*&k yourself. People on this forum are here for good info on questions they have, not your BS rhetoric and lack luster knowledge. Rather then flame the guy for asking a question you don't like or have the REAL knowledge to answer, hit back and move onto another thread. Although I must say all I seem to see from you is trying to degrade other so I am guessing you are a snot nosed 12 year old that likes to put his .02 cents in. Have a nice day *******.

There is a great American tradition
of letting people talk, dress and modify their stuff anyway they feel like it.
There is also a great American tradition
of making fun of people who are trying to 'fake' an image.
"All Hat and no cattle"
"Putting on airs"
If you stopped and looked in the toolboxes
of most of the 'tough'
ridiculously lifted
Rams you see driving down the highway,
the majority wouldn't even have a shovel,
much less
d-rings, t-hooks, block and tackle, deadman, old carpet for tree wrapping or traction mat, etc.
These guys could not tie the knots appropriate for fiber rope
or tell you the few knots appropriate for wire rope,
or demonstrate they know how to insert a nail, screwdriver, or carrabiner
into a knot to allow it to come untied again after tons of tension on it.
It is a Minor Miracle'
if they have
a vice grip in the glovebox and a roll of duct tape.
Why are these Rams lifted?
Their owners are trying to make people believe
that since they have a big, powerful, dangerous truck
they themselves are somehow big, powerful and dangerous.
This problem with self worth
is not just in the USA
and not just in modern times.
The men of Papua New Guinea
try to make onlookers believe
they are "impressive" too.....
but they use gourds instead of pickup trucks.
Stop and think about it
and the lifted Ram owners have the same motivation.

I really wish you guys would stop quoting the idiot. I have him blocked so I can't read his posts, but you guys keep quoting him, so I am forced to read his crap. I think he just posts to get a rise out of people because NOBODY could be that friggin' stupid!

to this just sounds like a person that either cant afford to have nice things or is jealous because his ram is not as nice. Or maybe his wife put her foot down and told him he cant do anything to his truck. Maybe it is all of the above. All I know is I have 9" of lift on my truck and I don't care if it ever sees mud I bought it because that is what I wanted not because I wanted to make sure that I was doing the right thing according to hank.

It's your truck, do whatever the hell you want to it, no matter what anyone says (except the Mrs. of course - )
I would warn you against any serious off-roadin' though. It seems EVERY time I see someone do major front end component damage it's a guy with 37" or bigger tires on an IFS truck. It's just a little too fragile to handle the weight and torque big meats put on the front end.

RE: MPG for the big tire big lift guys!!!!
Idiot yes.... stupid, far from it. I take back my comment about being 15. I believe he is older, highly educated, and has no ral hobby. At one time he probably did all the fun **** we talk about but got knocked down some how and now hates US for it. I do not have a tool box in the back. I do have a tow rope. I will tie knots in anything needed and do it twice as well as he can(advantage of doing it in the Navy for 16 years), but, ....... he is right, I will not go rock crawling, or "serious mudding", I am married with 3 daughters so I have no one to impress but those little girls, and they really don't care whether they ride in dad's truck or mom's BMW. There is a major fault in your thoughts with the picture. The men in the picture where the attachments to make their "private part" look larger to entice, the opposite sex. I have a beautiful wife by any standards and am not looking to entice any other women, trust me, I couldn't afford them if I wanted them. I am not trying to portray myself as the all powerful guy, I blow **** up for a living, I am an all powerful guy already. So, nice to hear your completely untrue thoughts, would be nice if you actually had something meaningful to say on this board once in a while vice always being the class idiot to draw attention to yourself. I figured since you are stereotyping me, I would do the same to you. Have a nice day dick, err... Hank.
