i recently purchased an '04 ram single cab 4.7L with 5spd. I soon noticed that my reverse lights will not come on. i checked all my fuses under the hood and the bulbs themselves. All fuses were good and bulbs fine. i dont know what to do next. help?

 

Check your back up light switch on the right side of your transmission, where the exhaust down tube makes the bend down the truck coming out of the engine bay. Thats probably gonna be your culprit I have know idea how much its gonna cost for a new one. Says here in my Haynes manual (a must have for the DIYer) to check for continuity with an ohmmeter. Good luck man.

 

Faulty or unplugged/bad contact switch would be the next thing to check. I'm guessing brake/tail lights are working so the harness is getting power.

 

yeah mybrake lights and all are working but its only my reverse lights that wont. new truck i just got and small **** messing up ya know? pisses me off a little. i appreciate it ya'll.
