Default Cheaping out for 07 RAM 1500 WTF

Hi Everybody!

Why has Dodge started cheaping out. My 04 Laramie had power seat on the passenger side as well as the drivers side. I also had a dash light come on to tell me when my windshield washer level was getting low. My 07 Laramie has neither, and it has more toys then my 04 did. (sunroof, power back window, MDS, hill assist, ESP, 6 disc Sirius radio etc...) I also hate the light gray interior, the 04 was black. Also the leather seats in the 07 look cheap. The 04 had black leather with the suade insert on the seat back, that was sweet looking. Anything else missing on the 07 that earlier 3rd gen models had? Let me know.

Thanks

BIG STEAK

all I know is that my 07 Dodge Ram 1500 came with far more than the truck it replaced, a 94 Toyota pickup such as more room in the cab, and behind the seat, 17" wheels vs 14" wheels, six speeds and six cylinder over five speeds and four cylinders, four wheel disk brakes over front disk/rear drum.

As for interior, the dodge has full gages, am/fm cd player, center console, shifter console, better cup holders, tilting steering wheel and AC as standard.

Now it just needs to get better gas milage, this 22 mpg just isn't enough.

"Dodge Different". Dodge is notorious forsaving money byeliminating small items from vehicles as they get older. From 97-02 Dodge nipped a few items out of the Dakota line, eg:the under-hood light, the hood pad, the ashtray/cig lighter, the front fender badges, the side door decals, etc.

It sounds like you didn't look at the truck good enough before you bought it. As for the gray interior, it's not as dark as my 2002 was. Red

They had to order this truck from another dealer. Didnt see one untill it came in. I thought that the gray would be a shade darker. I just find that the gray interior gets dirty too quickly IE steering wheel, door handles, HF handles etc... The ride seems a lot softer then the '04 was, making it more car like. This is my 4th dodge truck, starting with a '98 extra cab(no rear doors) that was totalled by a ford probe rear ending it, '01 extra cab (with doors), '04 quad cab laramie and now the '07 laramie. All in all, nice truck, dont appreciate taking away the little things. I would almost think that a low washer fluid light would be a safety feature. There still is a under hood light.

That is interesting about the low washer fluid. Must have happened in 06, my 05 has it.

I think the interiors took a big step back in 06.

My 2007 has the low washer message. The other day while I was driving the dashboard "chimed" and where my digital odometer was it said "loWASH". I think it has to be almost empty for this to go off. There is no light (as my 2001 had) it appeared as a message.

I'm picking out a new Ram 1500 for my grandparents and it's got to have every possible option and I do recall the power passenger seat is still an option. I thought it'd come on the Laramie but perhaps not.

I also think the suede inserts in my 03 look better than the newer trucks [8D]

now that you mention it, it is something i dont like about our truck as well. we ahve a 2007 ram 1500 laramie too. we dont have the passenger power seats. that was the biggest problem ive had with my truck. i mean, my friend with his old chevy with cloth seats, no back window... blah blah blah, even has the powered passenger seat. well, i just look at it that i dont sit there and that my friends do so i dont worry about it too much. but still, paying $45k for a truck, youd expect that.
