Default Dumb radio question.

So, I replaced the stock unit in my truck because the AM band was dead.

I forgot I left a CD in it. Is there a way to manually eject or do I need to apply 12V to one of the plug pins on the back (and ground on another of course)?

to protect the disc, add 12v power to it. Havent looked that close to the back of it to tell you which lead input is power. would be probably quickest to plug it into the factory harness just long enough to get the disc out.

Casper is right: safest way is connect to the harness and eject the disk. Shouldn't take but a few minutes, and won't cook something.

Well, it'll take a bit longer. I swapped it about a week ago and just now remembered the CD. Will have to tear into the dash to get back to the factory harness.

if its bad just tear into the harness for a the power leads. I would bet that even a 9V batt would power up the radio and eject the CD. just my .02

Umm... I'm not rich but why not just buy a new CD? Otherwise if you don't want the stereo anymore just start taking screws out until the cover slides off and pull your cd out the top.

Because this is a burned copy of a rehearsal track for a song I'm to sing in Church on the 16th. I hate to make the director burn me another.

I'll either hit it with power or take it apart Friday night.

I was hoping there was a hole I could poke with a paper clip like most PC CD drives have.

If the radio is bad, just rip it apart and grab the disc out

Just pop your hood and press the power and ground to your battery ive had to do it before it will work then you do not have to rip out your dash

That is what I did when I traded in my old car for my Mega Cab I had a 12 disc and forgot to eject the cartridge and just put the power and ground directly to the batt. and worked like a champ. good luck
