Mopar filters are made by Purolator. Overpriced Premium plus filters. Your Purolator number you want is P24651, if you wish to have a PureOne, Then PL24651. The best buy, filter is A Motorcraft 820S for your truck,Its made by Purolator, same as Pureone, with a silicone anti drain back and a top bypass valve to cut down on startup noise, speced by Ford. Spray paint it Black if you wish, its a better filter, made by the same company, cheaper. Advance Auto carries Purolator if you wish to go that route. Pureones are on tee with Mobil1, K/N and is a very premium filter for the money.

What i find amazing, is the fact that everyone thinks their Oil Filter is best....For once, i would like to see in writing which oil filter was really the best.

It's amazing how much engineering goes into it! The case consuction, base thickness, valve construction, filter materials, even the "pleating" of the material.

I've come to the belief if you follow the routine maintenance, even the crappiest, cheapest filter that meets oem requirements/specs or however its worded will do the job. At least you should be protected by the magnuson moss act if chrysler claims it voided your warranty, otherwise they have to provide the filters free of charge.

I crossed your numbers over to Wix and it came out to 51372 which is the Ford 4.6 filter. Does that sound right?

thanks for those tips and part numbers Panzerman

there is lots of other past evidence the Motorcraft filters are acceptable based on cut-aparts of the used filter and examination of the internal parts
