Default Tire Prefference?

Hey Gang, New to this forum and I'm hooked already. I just got my Dodge about 3 weeks ago and it's easily the best truck I've owned (I had chevy and ford before this).

My question is this, Does anyone have a prefference about tires and why? I just had a flat and now I'm running without a spare cause goodyear is out of the size I need. Goodyear says that it'll take 3-4 weeks to get the tires here (I live in hawaii) and they'll cost about $200 each. The size I need is 275/55/R20.

Should I wait the 3 weeks it'll take to get here or look into other brands?

Go to Walmart and have them order the tires, they will be around $150 for the Eagle LS (what comes on the ram), and shouldnt take 3 weeks.

Surely someone else on the island has tires available! Where in Hawaii are you? Have you tried Lex Brodies? I don't know much about them because I have only been in Pearl Harbor a few months, but they seem to be all over the place here.

Tire Rack has the Eagle LS on special for $132 each. The shipping to Hawaii is about $135 for all 4 and is only supposed to take about 3 days after leaving the warehouse to arrive.

I already checked Lex Brody and they're out of stock too. They order from goodyear and it's still going to take 3-4 weeks and Lex Brody is more expensive. I will check Wallmart though, Thanx.

Information provided by Tire Rack & other web retailers points to the BridgeStone Deuler AT Revo. Tire Rack puts this tire on top of 24 different tires compared. This seems to be the opinion of the local (Va) tire dealers as well. The AT Revo is different from the Deuler AT.

Lived on Oahu in the mid 1993-'96, can't recall the tire dealers though. Bought poke at Tamashiro's though.

I've always had better luck with Goodrich, than Goodyear! The All terrain T/A for mud and snow. And the Long trail for rain, ride, and improved gas mileage! the last set of A/T's I had on my 00 Dakota, I had 77k on when I bought the Long trails, and they still had tread left on them.

Just my 2 cents.......
