Door Lock Issue
Got a 2002 1500 HEMI. Had zero issues with any of the locks until now. Ironically, the week after the warranty expired, the sobdriver's side door lock does not function. Here's the details:
- I can open the door manually from the inside np.
- The alarm does not open the lock.
- Manually attempting to pull it up to unlock impossible, like its jammed or only electric.
- Electric lock switch does nothing.
- Manually opening the door releases the door but the lock itself stays down in the locked position.
Any ideas? My only thought is it was a attempted break in, the window somehow jammed something, or a broken motor?

not a flame or anything but they didnt use the hemi in the 2002 trucks.... did they? and i would suggest taking the door panel off and checking for any jams or anything holding it there loose connections or grounds...
1 way to check is to sitin the truck and activate the lock with the switch and or the remote. Try to listen and see if you hear the actuator try to unlock. You will hear a hum or even a pop. If you hear something, you at least know you have a power to the lock. The easiest troubleshooting beyond that is to pop the door panel and wire in one of the other switches and try it out. If it is just the switch, you have a cheap repair on your hands. Also with the panel off, you can see if something came off its track causing the problem. Check the voltage with the meter, check the switch with a meter, and put your hand physically on the actuator while trying to unlock it to see what the actuator is doing. Good luck and come back with what you find and we can help out a little more.
this is just what happened to me today with my 04 quad. thanks for being there. I will work on it when the weather breaks this week, as I am on the road soon.
Thanks, and I will let you know what I find.

my actuator(drivers side) went bad also but I didnt have the time when it broke to take it in to the dealer so I just bought another one for like $60 new from the dealer and replaced it myself. Stupid design because it is the whole freakin lock assembly instead of an actuator by itself.
