Default Heater not working?

Hi all! New member and posting for my husband's benefit.

I drove my husband's truck today (03 Ram 2500 w/ diesel)and realized that the heathas stopped working. He noticed a week or so ago that the defrost didn't seem to work. And it still doesn't.

It sounds like it is blowing like crazy, but not really anything is coming out of any of the vents. There is no warm air at all. I drove 30 miles to work, and could still see my breath in the cab and windows still had some frost when I got there. It was 28 degrees outside and I swear it couldn't have been any warmer in the cab!

Any ideas?

The temp gauge shows that the engine is warming to normal temperature, just seems like the heat doesn't work.

The next day, my husband drove it and said the heat nearly ran him out of the cab. So it must be an intermittent problem.
