Default HELP??!!Ram rac vs. TracRac

As you can see on my truck I have a TracRac system. I have multiple tool boxes with the sliders from TracRac. The rack was supplied by the dealer as a RamRac, (still a TracRac).

The problem is our beds are tapered as they get towards the tailgate and you can not slide a tool box off the rails. It gets stuck at the tailgate. Never told by my dealer! It is useless to have a sliding toolbox that can't slide off for well over $1,500 with all the accessories!

Dodge commisioned TracRac to make their RamRac system without the inner third rail. This third rail is the one that holds most of the accessories, ie; tonneau cover, cargo divider, their tool box...Etc. I can not but these accessories without buying the 3-rail Base Rail sytem for almost $400.00 additional dollars. The dealership closed it's Dodge branch and will not honor anything Dodge. BIG dealership in the area.

Has anyone else run into this and if you have do you know of a solution?

PS; Thanks for all the interesting reads. I know I don't post often but I check the site daily!

Default RE: DO NOT BUY Ram Rac!!! Only Trac Rac!

As a technician they have to honor all products they sold though the warranty period by Federal Law. I have worked at several dealers that sold or lost there franchise rights to certian vehicles (Yugo coes to mind as the best example).By law they still have to carry parts and provide service to that vehicle, period! My CARmax store even sold off its Chrysler/Jeep franchise and we had to service vehicles that we sold for years after that.

I suggest you check you local BBB and see if what they are telling you is true. I would not stand for it. At least see if they will partner with another dealer to get your situation resolved. You can also call the Dodge Customer Support Hotline and complain about it. They should be able to help you if the dealer will not. Don't wait to long though I dont know what time limits they put on these sorts of issues..
