Default Wiring up Lights and other stuff

I haven't seen anyone talk about this on here, but I was wondering... If I am running the lights behind the grill, and maybe putting on cabin lights, and eventually a stereo. If I am just unbolting the batteries positive attachment and putting them under it and bolting it back up if this is the best way to do it. Just wondering.
