Default Recovery/Tow points

Just bought a 06 ram qc 1500 slt, and was playin' with her and checking her out. And i noticed that there were no recovery points front or rear?! Am i correct on this or just missed them? If they aren't there what have you guys done on yours?

Also it didn't come with a receiver in the rear, just the bracket bar in/under the rear bumper to accept a 2" ball with a 1inch threaded shaft. Anyone know what weight this factory bar is good for towing wise.

Thanks guys.

Thats for your IV hitch. I think the question he was asking was what the towing capacity of his bumper is. As for the bumperI am not sure but I thought it says right on the bumper what the tounge weight and what the trailer weight maxes are... Could be wrong but the owners manual should say it too.

Got into town and found someone at dealership that knew what they were talking about so: The bumper with the tow bar that runs from frame rails up and under/through the bumper is supposedly good for 5000#. No receiver on it, just three holes side by side to run different sizes of *****. So i got a ball came home and the threaded shaft length is too short to fit through and have enough threads to run lock washer and nut at all....

Without a receiver hitch there is very little to hook onto in the back. In the front you basically have the same problem. There is a piece of plastic in the front that you can pop out revealing the holes for the factory tow hooks. If you are concerned about recovery points you could buy the tow hooks and mount them there or if you can weld, you can make your own.
It would be a good investment to purchase a frame mounted receiver hitch for the back, they are not very expensive and depending on brand are rated for at least 8000#.

I've been watching Craigslist for a set of front factory tow hooks for mine with no luck so far. I have seen a few rear class IV hitches for about $50 and under. I think the sport truck guys take them off for roll pans so they can be found for cheap.

Make you a set of tow hooks. I made mine with just a couple of real heavy duty U-bolts, a couple of Clevis' and my mig welder...
