Default Air Conditioning Blower Performance & Noise Issues

Tonight, I was totally startled by a sudden horrible noise with my truck A/C blower. The dashboard vibrated and madeanoise so loud that I couldn't hear the radio. The blower performance wasn't very good either.

I dropped the blower motor out from underneath the passenger side and found a small plastic part in the squirrel cage. I removed the offending part, re-installed the blower motor, and tried it again.

The main horrible noise is now gone, but now there is a humming vibration noise from the middle of the dash above the radio that occurs when the blower ison the highest setting. The blower is also not blowing as well as it did previously.

I believemy truck is still under warranty but I thought I would still throw thisissue out here forinformation and discussion.

The part that was found in the blower squirrel cage appears to be bronze or brown plastic part that was broken off from something.
It is a little more than an inch long and is about 1/2" in diameter. It looks as though a 1/4" diameter drive shaft (with a flat) was designed to fit inside the part.

Regards,
Freen

Default RE: Air Conditioning Blower Performance & Noise Issues

Just had the dealership check my ac/heat blower for low frequency noise and excessive vibration when the blower is in the 3rd and 4th fan speed selections. Broken part in the mechanics that open/close the door to the fresh air/recycle selection.
