Hi all. So today I'm out and my lamp out pops on. so i pull up behind a van and lights all work including fog. whats up with that????? also, how do i get a large pic embedded into my signature?? This forum is awesome and you all are very helpful with everything. thanks and happy holidays!!!

As far as the lamp out, 3rd gens have a common problem with the taillight strips. Take off the taillights and then remove the 4 screws that hold the strips on. Pull out the bulbs and inspect the base of each bulb for burned or melted spots..... Look in the socket for burn spots on the terminals..

 

+1 I had the same problem except mine was intermittent (would ding on and off 5-6 times a day)I followed Parts/Service's advice and pulled the strips, one of the taillight bulbs had some black residue on it as well as the the socket in the strip, I scraped all of the stuff off and replaced the bulb and so far so good.

 

FIGURED IT OUT. THE HEADLAMP OUT LIGHT BLINKS WHEN I TURN ON THE TRUCK. STAYS ON THE WHOLE TIME, AND OCCASIONALY CHIMES, WHEN I HIT THE BRAKES. BRAKE LIGHT OUT. REPLACED BULB AND GOOD TO GO. DAMN SMART TRUCK!
