Are 02 1500 lift kits out there?
Yea, I bought the Ram white elephant. My truck has the torsion bar independant front end. Ive seen a few lift kits that are way too expensive. I have also checked out torsion keys that seem pretty practical. I'd like to get about 3 or 4 inches. Body lifts are usually ugly with negative affects onsteering sector, tranfer case selector, andbumper relocaters. As the suspension goes,I think it's rediculous to spend 2K for such amildlift. Are there more affordableoptions out there?
Torsion keys are ok but will only give you abour 2". I agree that body lifts leave something to be desired, unless combined with a suspension lift. A body lift usually results in a harsh, top heavy ride and by itself will not level your truck.
The reason why suspension lifts are so high priced for our 1500 trucks is because our IFS trucks require a complete sub-frame, you will note how much cheaper a lift is for the 2nd gen 1500's and all the 2500's as they have a solid axle up front and don't require a complete sub-frame. The '06+ coil over setup also requires less components and therefore tend to be cheaper than a kit for '02 to '05s.
I have a Rancho 4" lift and love it. About $1700 with 4 Rancho RS9000X shocks. You get what you pay for I guess...
