Default A/C Condenser fan

So I drive home from work at 1am friday night. I get home, park the truck and go to bed. Saturday morning I start the truck and the check-engine light comes on.

Turns out the A/C Condenser fan fuse popped. I replaced it (After finding it via code set in computer) and it's been fine since.

It was cold and wet out friday night so I figured some crap got in there and may have frozen.

Anyone else have an issue with their fan in the winter?

2002 Ram, 43xxx miles.

Nope, no problems with mine. I live in Northern IN, we got near 20" this last weekend----4 hrs of driveway cleaning---sux!!

I have near 70k on mine now and no trouble with the cond fan--or anything else of great importance for that matter..

Yeah,I have the same problem with my truck. Theres a a few posts on here already about that, which pretty much say replace your fuse if that doesnt work try replacing the relays, and if that doesnt work you have to get a new condensor fan and shroud. For that from the dealer the quoted me $430 with labour. Hope that helps you abit.

Before you run out and get all that stuff, there is a TSB for a modified shroud.
The old types of shroud which my 03 Hemi has and yours will probably have as well OldMoparMan, cause the fan blades to foul in winter, when water pools and freezescausing the fan blades on the AC fan condenser assy stop turning.
Thiscancause the AC fuse to blow, as the motor can't turn causing an overload situation in the motor and massive current draw.
Has it been cold and freezing where you live of late?
If so, that'll possibly be your problem.
Don't go and buy a new shroud. Just put a few largish drill holes in the bottom of the shroudto stop the water pooling in the bottom of it.
Hope this saves you $ 's bud????
Post up and let us know.
Best wishes to you and the family for Christmas.
Al.
