any one hear using thes shocks. I had a little delima at 4wheelparts were i was orginally getting bilsteins but they didn't fit then went to rancho's 9000, they were out of stock now i have the pro comp mx6 with the extended fronts. Are these comparable to the bilstiens 5100's or the rancho 9000

a lot of these cheaper shocks are just crap they put together but since they are a big brand name they sell very easily... I personally would hold off and get something nicer in the future unless shocks are an absolute must at this point in time.... I've noticed skyjacker has like 30 dollar shocks too...

I've only ridden in a vehicle (briefly) that had Pro-Comps on it, didnt notice anything either way, but it was only for a few hours on a light trail. In terms of what I've heard, not so good (which is tough as I read that you were sorta forced in that direction). I did consider Pro-Comps when I had a bunch of work done on my truck, looking to save a little cost and all. But my local 4X4 shop, who did sell them, actually called them "Pro-Crap" and said they only stock them on their retails shelf in limited quantities for those customers who just won't pay for better. I kinda got the feeling they were trying to get me to buy something more expensive for margin sakes, so before I pulled the trigger I read around and the consensus was the high end Rancho's or Bilstiens were the way to go, so I went with the Bil's and can say they made a noticeable difference. I did have to thank the local 4X4 shop for not letting me make a mistake..they do allot of work on trucks (one of the most popular shops in the region)...and by allot, where I'm at with places like Moab, trails all over most of the mountains, etc...they do a ton of business...
I don't know if your "stuck" with the Pro-Comps or not ? Perhaps you could work with your shop to let you return them for the Rancho or Bilsteins when they have 'em in stock ? They'll be more $$$$$, but from what I've experienced and heard it's definately worth it...
