Stupid question I'm sure, but do you guys just hand tighten your oil filters? And I mean as tight as possible, or do you give it a twist with the wrench.

 

Hand tighten. I will tighten with one hand then grab it with 2 hands hands and give it another 1/4 turn.

 

No wrench, ever. I do about the same as L&R, snug it up then an extra 1/4 turn by hand only...

 

As stated above. No need to go overboard. Red

 

Thanks all!! I was just wanting to make sure I was doing it properly.

 

I know it's pobably a simple thing to say but.................make sure your old filters oil ring comes off with the old filter and make sure your new filters got a new rubber o ring on it which you should also oil up.
