Default Paint Question

The bad news: My truck was backed into late last Saturday night. Damage wasnt bad but it left a nice long crease by the gas tank lid and a couple smaller dents below it. I took pictures of it but with the truck being black you really couldnt see it.

The good news: The person who done it came and knocked on the door to tell me (at least there are still some honest/decent people in this world)

More news: I don't think the fellow had insurance but a neighbor and relativeof his works at a body shop.
I agreed to let the neighbor fix it. Well he started work on it Saturday evening and kept it until Sunday afternoon. This all occurred at my inlaws, a 2 hour drivefrom my house.

We had to get back home Sunday afternoon so he didnt have time to finish it. He did a really good job fixing the dents and that long crease as you cant see that anymore and looks good as new. All there is on it right now is primer. My only concern at this point is getting it to look like it did orginally with the paint color. With it being black would there be a possibility of noticing a darker or lighter shade of black? I don't know much about paint but would a clearcoat be applied to? The paint color codeof the truck is PX8

I am pleased with the work done up to this point but I'm a real picky guy and do not want to see any blemishes whatsoever. Can someone tell me everything I need to know about auto paint and what to look for?

Default RE: Paint Question

Just make sure he uses the stock paint code and then buffs the paint to blend with the rest of the side of the pickup. If all else fails, make him repaint the entire side and then buff out the rest of the pickup to a perfect match. If this guys spends that much time fixing dents, his painting will probably be even better than his body work.

Cool. He did ask for the paint code last week so it does sound like he knows what he is doing. I guess I shouldnt worry too much then. Thanks for your input.
