First time towing. It did great.
Towed my father-in-law's 17 foot aluminum bass boat. I was quite pleased. Much better than my 1990 Bronco (5.0L 5 Speed) used to do.
I was amazed how much easier it was to back the trailer with the longer wheelbase of the Ram.
His trailer wheel bearings were toast so we towed it about 15 miles up the interstate to a friend of his to get them replaced. I had to keep reminding myself the trailer was back there. Something I never had to do with the Bronco.
Took a couple of crappy cellphone pics.

You should not even know that it's back there. Until I sold it in March, I had a 1999 20' Javelin Bass Boat, fiberglass with a 175 Evinrude. Even at that I never knew it was back there. Hell, I used to tow my 1994 17' Javelin w/140 Johnson with a lifted '96 Nissan 4x4 p/u, pulled it just fine, but a foggy morning I came upona "herd" of deer on my way to fish Lake Russell in Ga, convinced me to forget about small trucks and go back to full size. The truck could not stop pulling that boat. I've only owned full size trucks since.

Of couse that smog dog engine was only rated for about 190 horsepower when new and I was closing on 200K miles when I sold it.
Nice boat, is very similiar to mine. I figure mine at about 1500-1800lbs and never even know its there except a little impact on gas mileage.
Even when I pull my friends 21' Starcraft I don't feel it all that much and that is a MUCH bigger boat.

Yep, I have a 22' ski boat with 25' trailer. My Ram has no quams pulling it at highway speeds. I also have a car hauler I use to tote a tractor and golf cart from site to site for my job. I don't have any complaints with the light towing I do on my truck... Not to mention the gas mileage (While Towing) is much better with my Ram than most other trucks I have used, just wish I could say that for the same while NOT towing...
I tow a 20 ft. chapparral bowrider... it pulls it great... the waverunner well its like towing nothing LOL.... i might be gettin rid of the chap for a grady white or a boston whaler though..... and than might be getting a dual waverunner setup instead of one... Yeah, I kinda love water sports!!!!

He keeps making noises about giving it to me when he gets the 18 ft composite hull Statos he wants.
We shall see.
BTW, bwhite757, we're in Charleston, SC right now (my wife's family is here). Been fishing the Cooper River and county resivoir this week.
i towed a 6000lb trailer from atlanta to tallahassee and ripped the **** out of my c-clips.... cost me $2800 for a new axle and new rear end, so be careful how hard you push your ram. they're good trucks but the rear ends are **** after too much weight
