My experience was that our local Dodge dealership was ready to deal went I went looking 2 months ago. Traditionally the week between Christmas and New Years has been one of the best, if not the best, time to buy new, so get looking. Not much difference between the leftover 07's and 08's outside of the tweeked 4.7 and a change in badges. I'm not sure there will be that much difference in price either. Most importantly, find what you want!

The 08's have a few small changes, one being the tire pressure sensors. If you buy new, either 07 or 08, you will get the lifetime powertrain warranty, which looks pretty good even after you read the fine print, especially for 4X4s.
Keep in mind that even though you should be able to get a new 07 for less than the same 08, with the huge rebates on the 08s, the actual difference may be only $1000 to $2000. In my opinion, unless last years model (07) is at least $4500 less, the 08 is the better deal in terms of depreciation when you drive it off the lot.
I would buy an 08, work with at least 3 dealers ,and don't get needy. Expect at least 20% off MSRP plus taxes as a starting point and go DOWN from there, it is a buyers market. Another way to look at it, take invoice and subract $2000 and the rebates, make sure you get all the rebates, could be as much as $7000 in rebates.
good luck at don't settle for less than you want. money is king.
