Just got new 08 Power Wagon
After a month or so of looking at all of the new trucks on the market, we just pulled the trigger on a new 2008 Power Wagon. It wasn't easy finding the 08 models, not very many on the dealer lots, but all of a sudden, a few showed up locally, so thanks to this and other forums, we were prepared to make a deal and take home a Flame Red PW with every option we wanted.
Thanks to the forum members who have given their advice and provided xlnt information about all of the Dodge trucks, otherwise we would still be scratching our heads. We are one of the few truck owners who are going from diesel back to gas, thanks to the unique Power Wagon features that gives us a great all around truck, not for everybody, but just right for our life style and needs.
Although there are a lot of nice trucks out there, including other Dodge models, the current incentives and lifetime powertrain warranty won us over, not to mention the fact that the Power wagon is a unique beast. And for us, it is also really fun to drive, very light on its feet compared to our past F250 PSD 4X4 Crew cab, long bed. And as much as I understand that diesels are the best for towing (which we do about 5,000 miles a year), our experience proved to not be worth the additional expense and maintenance associated with today's cleaner diesels. And where we live diesel fuel is usually 50 cents more per gallon than 89 gas. The new ultra low sulfer diesel is playing havoc on some diesels out there, our last diesel was a victim, and we were not alone, at least in California. I am not bashing diesels, they are definetly the best choice for many. And it is clear that the Hemi is a gas hog, but our other car is a hybrid and gets 45 to 50 mpg, so I think we have a good average.
The Power Wagon isn't perfect, but it sure is working for us....we love it...thanks again for all of the help in making our decision.

RE: Just got new 08 Power Wagon
We got the Quad Cab with the 5 spd auto, we tow and wanted the 4.56s, the 6 spd is now coming with 3.42s. California traffic is not good for sticks. The PW has every option except the Rear video and we have already added the rear whell liners, just looked to open with out the liners, not to mention less mess in the mudd. We are going to keep it fairly stock, at least that is what I am saying today.
