I just bought a used 06 Ram 4.7 4x4 quad cab and have discovered a couple things about it.

1) The stereo seems to pop or cut out real quick in both satelite and cd mode. Is this a common thing?

2) It appears someone has put an AFE air system on it. There is a sticker on the intake tube. So what can I expect with this etc. I thought it sound pretty throaty for a stock motor.

The truck seems to run well and only has 12k miles on it. If you can shed light on the two things I have noticed I would like to hear what you have to say..

The stereo sounds like it has crapped out on you, however the good news is that it is under warranty and you can get it fixed. If the radio and the satelite are both crapping out then there is most likely an output problem and there isn' much you can do. Just take it to a dealership and get it replaced.

As far as the intake goes, I don;t know to much as how it works on the 4.7 but normally, an intake will allow more air to go into the engine, thus allowing it to breathe better, thus gaining a small amount of gas mileage over stock. Somewhere in the market of 1 - 2 mpg.

Can you tell if there is anything else done to your truck like an exhaust? Just wondering.
