Default Sensor Relocate question

I got an intake for Christmas that is an ebay intake with a K&N filter. I thought that I had picked out one that attached straight to the throttle body, thus getting rid of the stupid massive air box. I accidently picked the wrong one, and it is supposed to attach to the box and just run from there down to the front fender. I think I'm going to try and hook it up the throttle body anyways since the point of getting one was to get rid of the air box. In order to do this I need to create a hole for the air sensor to go in. I read some stuff about doing this through search but didn't find exactly what I want. I was thinking of drilling a hole in the pipe and then inserting a rubber gromit to put the sensor in. I think this is how they do iton the cheaper intakes if you buy the ones made to goto the throttle body. Is there anything that I need to watch for if I do this so that I don't screw something up? Does anyone that has done this before have any suggestions?
