what is the point of having 16 plugs instead of just 8?

Damn.. I must have changed 8 more plugs than the manual said!! No offense Fireman, but the Hemi's display 16 plugs.. anyone that has changed them will you tell you that the the ones closer to the firewall are a pain in the @$$ to change them.
You should look at changing them every 30k as per the manual.

that's why I was posting, to see what the deal was...
here's what the manual says:
Page 503:
spark plugs (5.7L) - PEC14MCC4
spark plugs (4.7) - upper bank - FT8TE2, lower bank - FR8T1332
Page 508:
note: **vehicles built with the 4.7L engine are equipped with sixteen spark plugs, one set is located on the top of the engine under the coils and the second set is located on the side of the engine.
Page 510:
replace the top row of spark plugs on 4.7L engines - 30,000
replace the spark plugs on 3.7L and 5.7L engines - 30,000
Page 512:
replace the ignition cables on 4.7L engines - 102,000
replace the side row of spark plugs on 4.7L engines - 102,000
no mention of the HEMI 5.7 having 16 plugs... am I missing something?

I think it is a type brother.... You should have 16 in your truck. If you look closely, you will notice the positioning. The best way to see them is to remove the airbox and the tubing for the CAI and they are plain to see then.
