I went to a Dodge dealer for advice. Here's my problem. My over head computer has been reading that I'm getting 22 to 25 miles to the gallon. Can't happen ,It's an 04 Hemi, Quad cab, 4x4 ThunderRoad. SoI( went to the dealer to see how much it would cost me to fix the computer. First they wanted $100.00 to do a Diagnostic test for the first hour. then they would have to take it apart to see what was wrong with and they may have to order parts. SoI said forget it. Then I went home Pulled out the manual and found out that after reseting it I had the computer on the metric system. It popped right into the Us system and it showed 11.6. That's what I got on my last tank of gas. Not bad is it. So nowI guess I'll have to read the rest of the manual.

 

Better than paying them all that money just to find out it was in metric. Glad it works for you now...

 

Lol when I test drove my truck the dealership had it turned to metric. Salesman pointed out the mpgs, I was pretty impressed at first because I was running the truck pretty good. Half way through the test drive I noticed that it was inmetric, changed it over and found out the truth, and the salesman acted all suprised....

You could have just calculated your gas mileage withgood old fashion paper and pencil. Good thing you caught it before paying

 

I was using paper and pen ,That's why I couldn't understand the mileage difference. Now I have to tell one of my buddies. He swears that his Hemi is getting 25 miles per gallon, it's an 03, He's probably on metric too.

 

Not to be an *******, but how is this a common problem? it says Li/100km right on the display?

i think it would have been even dumber if you had them do all that just to charge you an unreasonable amount of $$$ to push a few buttons....

 

If you want to get over 25 mpg, find a long hill, put in N, leave engine running and coast, 42 mpg is my record ...

 

I contacted the previous owner of my truck. He made the same claim. Wonder if it was for the same reason. He was wondering why I removed the Tornado he'd installed.
