Serv FWD Light went on
Got a bit of a snowstorm here and had it in FWD Auto. Drove around 125 miles on the snow covered highway and the Serv FWD light went on. FWD seems to be working OK in Auto and lock. Do you think it will be OK for the rest of the weekend?? I've got another 400 miles before I get home. I plan on hauling my snowmobiles up into the Upper Pennisula of Michigan, round trip 250, could be some lake effect snow up in that country so I may need FWD.
Not 100% sure but I think that the light comes on because transfer case fluid is low. If that is the caseI would getit fixed before driving alot more in4X4.I could be wrong and some1 else will probably chime in.
Check to see if you have any DTC codes set. I was looking at the FSM for my 2005 and it indicated that you have a control module for the transfer case. Its possible it is a little low on fluid, but it should also have stored a dtc for the problem, which might give you better direction as to what is wrong. No fun spinning your wheels getting ready for a road trip!!!!
You are going to have to take it to the dealer. The DTC code set is specific to your year truck (2007). I looked in the 2005 FSM I have and there is no c-2101 there. There are others--just not the one you need. I checked the free FSM site for a 2007 manual for ya, but it isn't available yet---so, its time to take a drive. It'll be under warranty yet, I assume. If it were me, and I was heading out before I could get it to the dealer, I'd say go for it----if it breaks, warranty covers it!!!!![sm=icon_cheers.gif]
for the 06 is c2101 is battery voltage high, which is odd considering you're having 4wd problems. [/align]

Went out to hit the road to the great white Upper Pennisula and the Serv FWD light was out. Drove roughly 250 miles in 2wd and all was good. Definitely taking it in when I get home to have it checked out. Thanks
