I still dont understand the purpose of buying a truck to then lowering it. It defeats the purpose. I guess people like to drive a truck but still feel like they have a ricer.

Whats wrong with customizing your truck the way you want?

 

the purpose is simple...it's the way that person wants their truck to look....personally, i lowered mine so it was easier for my dad to get in and out of it...granted i like the way it sits too but it was done more for him then anything else...if i wanted a damn ricer, then i would have bought one (personally, i think they should all be crushed but thats another story).....dont mean to sound like an a-hole or anything but damn...and it doesnt really defeat the purpose, it's still a truck and it still has a bed....you can do a few things to it so that it can haul and tow just as much as it did before hand

 

why to lower a 4x4??? How about them folks that tow big ol' heavy boats??? I've seen a ton of 2WD slide back down the dock cause they didn't have enough ummph to move their boat?

If there is a way to do it there is a REASON to do it

I think its just bad when people take a dually truck slam it to the ground were the bumpers scraping then put bags on it to lift it back up. ha

 

Having a 4x4 isnt for running stuff over, its for traction.
Traction on or off road...
Having one jacked to the sky is pointless unless you use it to run it extreme offroad.
Lowering a 4x4 makes perfect sense if you keep it on the street but live in say a snowy enviornment.

I have a lowered truck, probably lower than most on this site...and guess what, I can still load as much in it as anybody with the same size bed and use it as a pickup just like anybody else.
Heck, its EASIER to load than a truck thats lifted, and more stable when towing...so why is it you say it ruins it as a TRUCK?

I'm not saying lowering is for everyone, or that lifting is stupid, I like both and appreciate the fact that people do both, but before you guys go knocking lowered trucks, do some research about them and their ability...you'd be suprised.

 

well guys i know i have said it once and i will say it again... to everyone who owns a truck do what you want with it... lowering a truck looks nice and can handle better... is it my forte NO but i do respect people like hemiyellow who have great lowered trucks... but to those of you calling it pointless... how many lifted trucks never see off road... exactly... now i love to off road and so i got my truck sittin high but if it werent for that i would prolly have a 2wd... save a ton of money... people can do whatever they want with their truck... thats why they bought it.... hammer is just being hammer... he jokes around alot he doesnt mean no harm...

the man asks a question then gets ripped for it. how about when someone who has spent a lot of money, time, and thought to customize their truck, a HEMI, but everyone oooohs and ahhhhhs over a bone stock diesel. or votes a diesel TOM all the time from what i have heard around here. WOW, look at me, I pollute the ozone for everyone to see. Wooop D DOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
