Potential problem???
I ordered a Superchip Microtuner today (SCT was out of my pricerange). Anyway, I was looking at the FAQ's to see if I could find the answers to my questions there and I stumbled upon this quote:
"Cold Air Intakes are typically ok, but only when the mass air meter is the same distance from the throttle body as with the stock intake"
I have a K&N 57 FIPK sitting in my garage that is about to be installed, AND I was going to order a 70mm BBK Throttle Body tomorrow.
Am I going to run into this problem when I install the CAI and TB?
I also have 2 other questions of lesser importance:
1) Does Superchip require a 180 degree thermostat to run on the Performance setting?
2) I have 1/2 tank of 87 right now. Can I fill up with 93 tomorrow or should I wait until I need to fill the tank to set it on the Performance setting?

I would say go ahead and install the CAI, but hold off an the throttle body.
180* Thermostat is OK, but you don't need one. Now if you had headers and the tuner, that would be another story, you'd want the t-stat to richen you up a little so as not to be too lean.
You'd prolly be OK, but I'm not sure how much the 4.7 model advances the timing, so I'd wait till I had close to 100% of the tank with premium.

I just went through my over haul book and it looks like the 4.7 doen't use a MAF. Mine's an 03, but I don't think their is much diffrence bewtween the 02 and 03. By the waysmoken of the tires
