Default Side Window Air Deflectors

To all those with the Air Deflectors mounted on the side windows I have a few questions.

How are they mounted?
Can they be removed
How

I am changing my stock mirrors to towing mirrors. It looks like I may have to remove the deflectors in order to get the mirror off. Can the mirror studsclear the deflectors without removal??

Anyone....

If you mean "Ventshades", they attach with 3M tape. They could be removed (it would be like debadging though, because of the tape). You should be able to peel it back enough so your mirror would come off, and it could be sticky enough to go back on the mirror. If not replace a small amount of the tape. My truck has the factory trailer mirrors on it and I put the ventshades on it.

you can get other vent shades that install in the window channels themselves. No Tape.
I have these and when I want to take them out, I just pop them out.
My nicer looking than the tape on kind.

The ones I have installed are the Dodge (MOPAR) ones. They cover the mirror housing, and when removing I am not sure if the length of themirror bolts will allow the housing to clear the shades.

Good News! I got the tow mirrors installed without removing or damaging the deflectors. The studs on the mirror housing cleared the deflector. I just had to figure out that the power connection on the mirror housing was attached with clips.
