A Different CAI!
Geeze Hank, your such a twit! The Humv is the best all around light utility vehicle in the world, it is intended to replace the Jeep, not the M113 Armoured personel carrier. The HUMV does whatever its asked to do in conditions that would cripple any other vehicle in the world. It was not designed to be an armoured vehicle, so it doesnt make a very good one. It also makes a poor Missile cruiser (it sinks) and a **** poor fighter aircraft and a rotten nuclear missile sub. but for its intended purpose, it is magnificent. Thats whay almost all free countries buy them from us to use in their inventories.
Yeah Hank, the Sherman Light Battle Tank was SOOOO poorly designed it fought in three major US conflicts with slight armor, and main battle gun upgrades. Soundslike a perfect example of Americans affinity with looks over general practicality. Soldier's aren't stupid, if it don't work, they won't use it. So The HUMV is a total waste because EVERY soldier trusts his life on it. One more thing the HUMMER and the HUMV ONLY look the same, the HUMV is a far superior vehicle compared to the civilain HUMMER.
This is a helluva thread hijack!! We go from a CAI to equipment used to fight our wars!!! I swear I wish the forum allowed the thread poster to delete non relevent replies!!!
Jesus Hank, what Ivy League school did you get your engineering degree from? Do I detect a minor in history and political science? Wow...that's one of the dumbest things I've ever read on multiple levels. As a practicing engineer I'm amazed at your distorted view of design intent, and hopefully you can educate yourself better to avoid this type of thing in the future.
Yea B, Sorry about the hijack...hank just says some wild stuff some times.
That Twintake looks very cool....Kinda makes me regret starting this project. Let me know what you think about the first part, I am using 4" PVC. It sounds pretty wicked, too!
NOTE: This is only the first half of the intake. There is another bend that puts the filter behind the passenger headlight, but it is still getting painted. Also, the filter is a cheapo temporary filter, because I could not find the filter I was looking for in town.
What do you think? Is this dumb? Sorry for the Cell Phone Pic....all I had at work

Well, the intake came in today. Had it installed in about 20 minutes. Took it for a drive and I can definantly tell a MUCH better throttle response. Also sounds bad *** at WOT. There's a little more pep in my baby's step. I'm probably going to order everything else Friday....

the stopwatch built into your cellphone
will give better information
than listening with the ear
The CAI manufacturers fear that stopwatch in the cellphone
....notice the manual does not urge you to do a before and after
timed acceleration test?

Man, sometimes I laugh at Hank's input to posts, sometimes I listen and makes sense. I have a cai, home made with the liberty intake. Yes it sounds nice, but notice a drop of mpg. Dont know if its due to the heavy foot to hear it or the fact that more air comes in to the mixture. But anyway, all the stuff Hank was saying in a nutshell is, that CAI dont work, they are for looks only. Althought he did use some incorrect comparisons, such as the HUMV to the Tank. I have to agree, it is meant to replace the jeep and let me tell you, those 1950-70's jeep were not bulletproof tanks. They were DOORLESS for crying out loud. One thing I agree with Hank, there are bills now in place that cut our bill of rights short, especially the first amendment. OK OK no more Hijacking.
