fuel filter is mounted in the tank on the pump...lifetime part (meaning never needs to be replaced....doubtful lol)

Fuel filter's in the gas tank, as is the fuel pressure regulator. Hope for your sake, it's not that. Very likely isn't. My '95 Ram Wagon didn't need a fuel pump 'til 120K and that was'cause I had the habit of not filling it up 'til it was on fumes. Plugs are a good start -- it should be on its third set by now, but I'd bet they're still the originals. By the book, plug wires maybe, but probably not. Check the throttle body, the air filter. Water in the gas? When did this start? When I bought my '01 Ram SCSB, it had quite a bit of waterin the fuel. I bought it with ZERO warranty, and it almost died within four miles. I barely made it to a gas station. After I filled it up a couple of times, never another problem. Winter's a good time for water to be in the gas.
