would like to know what kind of 18 combos any bodys got and if anybody would share some pics.im about to get new wheels and tires and not sure what size tire to go with. i do want to stay about same height as the stock 20s that are on now. I really wanted 17s but kind of scared to order them because of fitting issues so i decided to play it safe with the 18s and oh yea truck is qc 1500 4x4

 

You'd have no problem with 17's, I have no idea where that got started. I know about a dozen people with Dodge trucks. All but two have 17's (I belong toa couple of hunting/fishing clubs and most 4x4 owners who actually go off-road prefer them). But, since you got the 18" wheels I might suggest the Mickey Thompson MTZ's. I know a couple of people who have them, one on a Ford Diesel 4x4 and the other with a Chevy Z71 and they both love them. I would have gotten them myself, but at the time they did not offer them in a 35" for 17" wheels, so I opted for the Dick Cepek FCII's instead (which are also a fantastic tire) just not as aggressive as the MTZ's. If you are not so much as an off-roader, the ATZ's are a great tire.

 

Thanks for info. actually i havent ordered any yet so would rather go with 17s. So you have 17s on yours? Are the calipers the same size on yours as mine?

 

Mine came stock with 17s. I like the extra "meat" on the wheels. I've heard the 17s ride better, but I've not compared them with 20s.

 

I ditched my 20's for some 17's.

The ride is noticeably smoother.

 

I believe the calipers are the same size on all 3rd gen 1500's from the 02's through the 08's. I know a guy who recently bought a base 1500, 4x2 4.7 to use for work in his painting business and it came stock with 17's, so they haven't changed for sure through '07 anyway.
