Default Cleaning under the hood

Any recommendations on what to use while cleaning under the hood. I currently use armor all and wd40 to wipe down hoses, parts etc. I have never sprayed it and probably wouldn't want to. Any suggestions for someone who likes to have it clean all the time?

when i clean mine, i use this stuff called Orange Blast or somethin like that...it's a degreaser and i just spray the entire engine (with it running) and then rise it off....it seems to work pretty good and then i'll just clean up some of the plastic stuff and thats about it

Tire foam works good and then wipe it off.

I, too, am hesitant about spraying water in there. Many people use Simple Green. I bought a gallon of concentrate and cut it 2:1. I spritz it on the various areas, let it sit and then spritz straight water. Wipe that down and put Son-of-a-Gun on it. I'm probably being too cautious.

I wouldn't use armor all or wd40...dirt will just stick a lot easier. I just use simple green and a hose with low pressure....I cover up the TB, alternator, fuse box, condensor fan with plastic grocery bags.
