RE: Is this a good or great deal?
i bought my '07 in august using a friends "employee choice" discount. the sticker was $35,060. i got the factory $6000 rebate and the EC price was 3% under invoice. my price not including tax etc... was $24,138. they say this price is set in stone by chrysler and there is no negotiating when using this discount. i had no trade and put $15,000 down. i got 7.49% for 6 years and my payments are $183 / month.
after my purchase and reading this forum i probably could have got the same deal or maybe better just going in off the street and negotiating. i asked the salesman and he said he can't get anywhere near that price for the average customer but you can't believe anything they say.

I bought my Hemi Sport Oct 1, end of the month because the 30th of sept fell on a sunday and payed $23,800 out the door. It listed for $34,985.
I think your doing alright but with cash you tell them what your willing to spend and make them take it or leave it.
Plus, I'd wait til the 09 comes out, 380 hp 400 lbs of torq.

I suspect you can do a little better. Last weekthere were'08 4x2 Hemi QC Big Horns were being advertised in L.A. for up to $13K off, and that's on a $32K truck, before the '09 was officially unveiled. I bet you could haggle for another $3000, ifyouhop around to different dealerships.

If your friend is getting you one of the 2 "Employee" discounts he can use each year, it's a good deal. My cousin works for Chrysler, and the way it was explained to me, he gets 2 "employee" discounts he can use a year (5% under dealerinvioce), and 5 "friends and family" discounts he can give out to friends(1% under dealer invoice). There is no negotiating on the price, and you can only choose one off of the lot, they aren't going to order one for you. The salesman who does the deal gets $100 for the sale from Chrysler.

smittyRN, my understanding is that the dealer employess aren't eligible for these packages as they are not chrysler employees. they have a different deal.
the employees are entitled to 1 employee price which is 5% under invoice, 1 employee choice to give to anyone at 3% under invoice and 5 friends and family at 1% under invoice.
the first dealership i went to gave me the wrong deal on a $34,9** sticker at $25,***. this was for employee friends and family (EFF). i went to a different dealer for mine. the first dealer (who we bought our commander from) called me and asked if i just went by in a new truck. i said yep. he asked what happened and i told him the other place was $1000 cheaper and he tried to argue with me. he then said i told him the wrong deal. i hadn't even heard of the EFF deal before i went in there so i couldn't have told him wrong.
anyway, when i bought mine they brought out a paper that had the MSRP and a few other prices at the bottom. one was the invoice price, one was the EFF, one the EC and i think one was employee price. he showed me all of them.
