On To Tires

RE: On To Tires
I just replaced my Pro Comp A/Ts (35/12.5/17's)after 51,000 miles. I loved 'em. They were quiet and handled great. I would have gone with them again but they are or were on a national back-order. So I went with the M/T Baja ATZ.
So far so good. They are quiet and handle good in wet or dry conditions.
Just throwin' it out there....

And The 18's Go From A 29.3/10.6 to A 34.6/12.8 - Was Trying To Stick To Less That A 12"
Width, And There Is Nothing In Between.
Haha I Went Into A Firestone (Just To Waste Time Inbetween Service Calls) I Told Them The Application = Good Tread Wear, Agressive Yet No Major Road Noise, At LEAST a D Rated Tireand Between 33-35 Tall and Trying To Stay Under A 12" Width...
He Kinda Scratched His Head A Little Bit... Then Pulled Out His Book and Showed Me The Terra Grappers and The Mickey Thompson's. I Asked Him "What About Any Firestone/Brigesone's?" .. (Scratches His Head)....
"We Really Don't Have Tires That Fit That Level of Performance"
Figure I'd Share That Funny Situation that Made Me Chuckle Through Today.

Nice Tire, Wanted A Little More of An Agressive Tread. But The Biggest Problem Is They Don't Make Anything Large Enough In A 17" Wheel.

33's here but I'd say Toyo AT's any size are worth every penny. Ask anyone thats running toyos hrdly ever see complaints. Quiet as the stockers were on the highway and wearing really well almost 10k miles and they still look new. You can get good deals on them if you shop around.

Hello Everyone,
I'm a newbie here but I figured I would weigh in with my own personal tire experience. I'll admit to not having and experience with the Mickey Thompson, Pirelli's, or the Pro Comp's, but I have to say that the best tire I ever had was the Copper Discoverer ST
While far from the cheapest (local dealer quoted me about about $150 Mounted, balanced [sm=icon_blah.gif]) they are will worlds cheaper than some of the other tires out there. There is a good chance my 2002 Ram will be getting these fairly soon as the truck came with a nasty cheap off brand Nexen Roadain HT tire on it (I live in the sticks where they don't seem to believe in plowing snow.)

Unreal... After All This Headache Lookin' For The Right Tire Size I Just Realized Something... I Am Currently Running 285/70/17's.With MyBasically Stock Suspension With 2 Cranks On My Torsion Bolts. Absolutly No Rubbing and Thats a 32.7 x 11.2.
All The Tires I Am Looking At Are Pretty Close To The Same Size... Grrrr Back To The Drawing Board.
You May Ask How I Missed That.. Well When I Bought The Truck It Had The StockMichelin Standard LT's and The First Tow The Tired Bounce Was Rediculious! So I Called and They Creditied Me 75% of Any D Rated BFG/Michelin of My Choice. Thats Where I Landed With The 285/70/17 BFG At's Over 2 Years Ago. So In My Head They Are Still The "stock" Original Tires On MY Truck.
My Dealer Has A 315/70/17.. When My Lift Comes In Thursday I Am Installing It And Test Fitting The 315/70/17's and ACTUALLy Seein' If They Rub.
I Am Heart Set On The Nitto's. This Turned Out To Be More of A Headache Then It Was Fun.
Thanks All, I Really Mean It You Guys Were A Big Help.. I Will Post Up Pics When It's All Done.
