to put a dual on there would i have to buy a new exaust system? and what do you mean buy gutted cat? ..sorry I'm still kind of a rookie with this stuff
If you wanted the dual pipe look, you would just have to buy a muffler that has dual outlets. So if you wanted the SUPER 44 for example, you would buy it as a single inlet/dual outlet muffler. Then someone would have to replace your super 40, and run new piping from the muffler back. Most people just do this when it comes to exhaust, generally referred to as a catback system. Also, don't forget, run some nice long shiny tips. The longer the better it will echo the exhaust note. And if they are nice and shiny, it makes the truck look good and grabs peoples attention.

Also, a gutted cat means kind of what it sounds like lol. One would take their catalytic converter off and gut the insides of it, and then put it back on. Essentially it would be like having no catalytic converter, while still retaining the appearance of having one. Doing this will louden up your exhaust even more, and give that mustang bark, it's quite neat.

on an estimate, how much do you think something like this would cost to have done to my truck? (44 series single inlet/dual outlet, get new piping from the muffler to the exhaust + 2 exhaust tips)..I'm basically looking for something that will give my truck a nice loud noise that you can hear from a ways away, sort of what you have Neon

Well let me do the math.

Flowmaster SUPER 44 muffler from 21stCenturyExhaust.com: Roughly $65
Exhaust Tips from summitracing.com: Roughly $85-105 (tips should at least be 18" long)

And generally for an exhaust shop to just put a muffler on and run two pipes out (of any style you would like), should be about $150-175. Go to an exhaust shop and tell them you will already have the muffler and tips supplied. Then just tell them you would like the muffler put on with some fresh piping for the outlets, and you can tell him how you want it to exit (one pipe behind each tire, two pipes underneath the bumper, two pipes side by side before or after a rear tire etc. etc. etc.). My guess is a job like that should be about $150. She'll bark really good too man. And if you want to play it safe, get a universal magnaflow catalytic converter from summit racing.com. Get the cat in a 3" inlet/outlet size. Get the Super 44 muffler in a 3" inlet/2.5" dual outlet size. This is what I did, and it was lethal. If you get the cat though, expect the price to get into the $200-250 range because they'll have to replace the cat, and then run a 3" pipe from the outlet of the cat to the inlet of the super 44 muffler. Hope I didn't confuse you, but that's what I tell everyone if they want a nice loud sound yet has tone. Thats what I did and it worked great for me (Super 44 muffler, magnaflow cat, and 4"x22" tips).

If I didn't get the cat, would that effect the tone of the truck a whole lot to as if I did get the cat?

Well considering your truck is pretty new, and has very low miles, I'm sure our cat isn't clogged up or anything. Do you know how many cats your truck comes with stock? I don't know though, I dont want to tell you to get a new cat if your truck is new, I'm not sure if dodges new cats are as flowing as magnaflows or not. If you want to play it safe though, if I were you, I'd get rid of my goofy stock cats, and get a nice clean small fresh on in there to go with the system. If you dont get it, I guarantee youll always ask yourself how much louder it would be with a magnaflow cat or a gutted cat lol. But yes, having a more flowing cat will really make a diff. with the exhaust.

Hey not a problem man. I mean it's not like you don't have anything to work with right now, you have a nice muffler to keep your mind busy. And just remember, there doesn't have to be a rush, take your time and save up the right amount of money and get the nice quality products, and then you'll have a fresh, healthy, free flowing loud exhaust system for your pretty much new truck.
