It should have the receptical in the rear which is ready to plug into, but nothing outside that.

I do not know about the states but in Canada you have to purchase it separate. Some controllers have it already on it. I had to cut the adaptor off my old one and put the dodge one on.

They used to put the harness in the glove box. But they might not do that now.

The connector will be behind the parking brake. It's on top of a larger bundle of wires. I've heard they're buried sometimes. My truck had a controller when I bought it. I took the thing out, since my trailer is very basic with no brakes.

When you say it was in the glove box... Do you mean a harness to plug one into, or an actual brake controller?

I was told at my dealership, that since my '08 QC had the tow pkg, there was a wire already tucked up into the dash, behind the e-brake to tap directly into when and if I purchase a brake controller eventually.

the plug it came with is just a pigtail with the right plug then you have to cut the plug off the brake controller and solder the dodge plug on. The brake controller has directions to what color wires go together. If your truck didn't come with the pigtail, you can get one at the rv store for cheap.

There is a (blue) connector behind the E brake. In my truck the wiring harness for the controller was in the center console. The harness plugs into the blue connector and then you wire your brake controller to the harness. In with the factory supplied harness there should be be a piece of paper showing what wires are what. Maybe on your truck they already plug it into the harness and the wires coiled up underneith the dash.
Are you positive it has the tow package? Some dealers throw a class III hitch on and will say it has the tow package. Make sure it says you have it on your sticker.

If you find the harness but have no paper telling you what wire is what...PM me. I will dig out my paper.
