trying to accomplish a couple of things with out going broke, want to lift truck up some, thinking of going with the 2.5"lift using the coil spacers in the front, but i want to also lift up the rear a little and beef up the towing capacity on it, it squats pretty bad with my boat on the back. i cant find any add a leaf for the 06 1500, andi dont have the cash for the 3"suspension lift. could i get extra height out of the rear with a 1.5" or 2" lift block and u bolts or is something else needed. i guess i could bag or helper spring the rear to add stiffness, but do i need different shocks going with 2"of lift ? i have 20"s on the truck and dont really do any off roading, just looking for a tougher stance and less squat .thanks any input would help

get the leveling kit and leave the back alone. get the firestone ride rite airbags and install them yourself. The ride rite bags are the only set up that doesn't require drilling or welding. With my bags i cab tow a trailer with a 1500lb tongue weight with a weight distribution hitch and still be nose down.

Towing capacity is not just how much weight you can pile on, it's how much mass the drivetrain can move without damage, it's how much mass the brakes can stop safely. A load-distributing hitch and some air bags will level out the ride, but will do nothing for towing capacity, just weight carrying.
All Are Great Ideas Above But Are All Still Expensive.
Call 4WheelParts and Tell Them You Can't Find An Add A Leaf. The Company They Use States They Can Add A Leaf To Any Suspension With Leafs.. There's A REALLY Good Chance An Add A Leaf Has Been Put OnYour Style Ram Before. If You Talk To Travis He Can Help - I Have Found He's The "I Can Make It Happen Guy"
The Front A Leveling Kit I Have On Order Myself, Couldn't Tell You The Results Yet. But A Rear Block Wont Help You With The Towing.

thanks for the help folks, redramo5 i really would like to get an add a leaf they will keep the stock look to the truck and not break me, airbags seem like a pain in the rump possible leaks or trouble with access to air when you need it. iam not trying to put a 1 ton load on a 1/2 ton pickup and haul with it every day, just want a little less squat when the boat is on or hauling asome firewood. squats pretty bad just loaded level to the top of the bed, not way over the top.also i like the stance of a 3/4 ton they seem short and stiff. i know someone said the blocks wont increase tow capacity which i figured, but will it raise the truck in height without sacrificing load issues? i guess it would depend on how much an add a leaf added without the block also. any more help or thoughts on this would really help as i want to try and do this soon. thanks

The best way to add a leaf is to add a real leaf. If you call a spring shop they will be able to add a full leaf to your current leaf springs. This will help keep things level. The other way, which was mentioned before, is a weight distributing hitch.

There is a product called Timbrens that is basically an extended bumpstop. Guys with plows and salters use them all the time. They will limit or eliminate the excessive squat and will not affect the ride quality you enjoy from your stock springs when you are not loaded down.
bltp - Wont That Just Sit On The Bump Stops During A Heavy Load = The Riding On The Rails Affect W/ No Suspension Play.. Bump Stops Don't Create A Better Load Just Raises The Bottom Out Height.

well the frame does sit on the bumpstops but they are made of a different material that acts like an airbag if this make sense. There not hard rubber like your thinking of.
