I have the JL w6 Anniversary Editions, from 2003. They are very odd, as they are dual 6ohm voice coils, which when run in paralell give me a nominal impedance of 1.5ohms. That is why I went to the Directed D1200 as it is stable down to 1ohm. But the new w6's and w3's use some new speaker technology that JL has developed, so they perform better than these. They seem to dissapate heat better, and have a better power handling. I would go that route WAY before I went with some more alpines. When you are ready to buy, let me know and I will find the best deal on the subs you are looking for.

OK...back to a previous post, where I said that you can get 100sqft for $120 from ebay. It is fatmat brand, but it is the same thing. That 100sqft is enough to do the entire truck, including the back wall, under the carpets, behind the headliner, and ESPECIALLY in the doors.

The doors sound like tin cans when you knock on them. When I knock on mine, all I hear is a dead "thud". I had some dynamat EXTREME laying around, so I put a layer of that in the bottoms of the doors. Here is a pic....

Not bad at all...The only problem with this against Dynamat Brand, is that the blue fatmat logos will be on your hand, as RedRam05Baby said, it looks like i was doing the knuckle shuffle with smurfette... But as long as you have soap, you will be just fine...

But again, it is WELL worth the money. It really cuts down on road noise and DRONE! For those of you that went with the 40 series flowmasters and like the sound but hate the drone, do this and you will be very surprised. I can still hear my Hemibeast roar when i lean into her, but when I am cruisin' it is nice and quiet...

Wow, okay.

Thanks a ton mfs212!!!!!!!!

I'm gonna buy this **** right now. You're saying I can do it myself huh? I'm not that savy, but if you say so.

This would be the lazy route, but it'd probably be expensive to have an installer do it huh?

It is really easy to lay. I would reccomend getting a heat gun (can be obtained from harbor freight for like $20...i already had one from there for another project) It is adhesive on one side, and they give you a roller to get into the crevaces. Be sure to have a good utility knife and plenty of extra razors around, though. This stuff will wear out a razor blade quick as ****.

But again, to remove the seats, it is only 8 bolts per row (less if you do not have the split). I did not even have to remove the carpet completly. Ifolded it back, did the front half, layed the carpet back down, folded the back half up anddid that. Me and a buddy did my whole truck, including the doors, in about 3 hours. There is ALOT of room to workin this truck when you have the seats out. I did it with the doors closed, more for my comfort than for ease of install (you might find that handy, since it is probably cold as ****e in Denver). The door panels are really easy to remove too...
