Default Some help deciding what

Hello everyone!

I will need to get a truck for my job within the next 5 months. I am leaning towards getting a 2006 Ram 1500 mega cab 4x4 5.7L HEMI.
I need help deciding what aftermarket performace parts to get.. I will have about 8 to 10k to play around with (just on upgrades, not the whole truck). Please keep in mind that I am planning to keep the truck for at least 5 years and that is why I am willing to spend that money on the upgrades. If you know of any performace parts that will greatly reduce the life of the major componets, please let me know so I can avoid them. On the other hand, if you know of any product I can by to extend the life of my truck, let me know as well.

Here is what I want:
Car computer with 10 inch LCD transreflective touchscreen
Complete radar and laser protection
A good audio system connected to the computer
Better performance when compared to the stock model

Here is what I came up with so far:

Real time monitoring:

ElmScan 5 USB Scan Tool
http://www.scantool.net/products/pro...4d3b85ea4a4c19

Bug shield:
Lund Bug Shield - Interceptor - Interceptor II
http://cpwstore.carpartswholesale.co...294967017+9184

High performance fluids:
Max ATF Multi-Spec transmission fluid
http://www.rpmoil.com/index.php?main...products_id=81

Royal Purple Max EZ Synthetic Power Steering Fluid
http://www.amazon.com/Royal-Purple-S.../dp/B000MYXFHE

Royal Purple Max Gear Oil
http://www.amazon.com/Royal-Purple-7...400&sr=1-4

Series 600 DOT 4 Racing Brake Fluid
https://www.amsoil.com/storefront/bf4.aspx

Amsoil motor oil

I still need to figure out the right tires for me:
Performance tires like the Dura Grappler

Tire protection:
Ultraseal Tire Life Extender
http://www.ultraseal.com/Pages/Navigate.html

Anti-cop:
Blinder M45 laser jammer
http://www.stoplaser.com/catalog.php...5_Laser_Jammer

Valentine 1 w. concealed display with band identification
https://store.valentine1.com/store/

Laser Veil Stealth Coating

Performance Enhancer:
ATI ProCharger 1DA212-SCI-3C Dodge Trucks Supercharger Kit
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000F1Z5E0/

Sound Dampering:
Dynamat Bulk Pak
http://www.dynamat.com/products_auto...at_xtreme.html

Alarm:
Scytek Precision Vision VisionGuard 6000 Remote Starter with Full-Featured Alarm with Built-in Camera
http://www.zalmar.com/detail-CarElec...Guard_6000.htm

I will update this first post if I find anything else.

Edit:
Did a little bit of research..

The diesel is only avaliable on the 2500 and 3500 Rams..
That will cost me a lot more then the 1500 gas HEMI because the dealer that I know (who is giving me the truck at cost) doesn't sell heavy trucks... So if I go with the diesel, I will be paying full price.. Decisions decisions...

Dang with all that stuff on your truck it will be so tight. I would not mind having that truck at all. I say go for it. Who are you gonna have install your supercharger?

A couple of my friends are pretty good at customising cars.. not sure about trucks though, so if anyone knows of a good mechanic in the metro Detroit area let me know!

if you're lookin for some improvements as far as engine at all...you could try an exhaust and air intake for better air flow..which pulls heat away from your engine and therefore helps your engine last longer. or you could try a power chip.

What addition do you recommend to the ATI ProCharger 1DA212-SCI-3C Dodge Trucks Supercharger Kit??

A rocket ship. [sm=icon_rofl.gif]
Jk

I know a lot about PC's, so the CarPC for my truck is already on paper. Now I just need help with supercharging the engine, transmission, brakes and maybe the suspension. Also, some recommendations for speakers that would work well with a CarPC would be nice as I am hopelessly uneducated when it comes to audio equipment.

Thanks in advance!
