Hello, im new to the dodge forum. As my name suggests I used to be a Ford guy but i purchased my 2003 ram reg cab today and absolutely love it. As my first vehicle was a 99 Dakota 3.9, i drove the sh*t out of it and it never broke... how good it is to be back.

I was curious as to any common problems i should look out for with the 03 ram 5.7. Any help would be appreciated !

yeah my mustang is a mid 10 second car.. but i needed something for work.. wouldnt dare own a ford truck.. so go with experience, Dodge. Im not too familiar with the pushrod design as my experience is mostly with OHC. I was amazed to average 16.8 mpg on the freeway from the stealership, but im sure that will drop. If i wanted gas mileage id have bought a honda =) thank you for the greetings.

Yea, I'm a converted Ford Truck guy. My father was a Dodge man and my uncle recently retired after 38 years a Chrysler mechanic. So, in my rebellious years, I owned Jeeps (pre-chrysler days), GM's & Fords. Last Ford was a '98 RC 4x4 that left me on the side of the road towing my bass boat home from a tourney in middle Ga. Wife at the time had to come get me and the boat in her Grand Cherokee as the truck was flat-bedded in.
Bottom line, cracked piston with 14,000 miles on the truck!!! Then the final insult was the truck sat at the dealer for 28 days because they fought me on warranty because I had a cat-back exhaust and 3 inch body lift - THAT WAS SUBBED OUT BY THE DEALERSHIP WHEN I BOUGHT IT - it came off the lot like that so I could finance it all through Ford! It took a letter from an atty mentioning the Magnuson-Moss act to get them to fix it. Traded it on a new '98 Dodge RCSB 360CI 4x4 the day after I got it back! I WILL NEVER, EVER OWN ANOTHER FORD!!!

Yea... The C clip, like TD mentioned, and watch out for power steering leaks. Normally, this is due to a shotty clamp, sometimes it is not. Just keep an eye out.

Anywho, welcome and enjoy the new truck. Like MikeHTally said, we will be glad to assist you in spending your money! LOL!
